From the Ashes: Youth Bringing Awareness About Islamophobia Through Theatre
Join us for an evening of powerful storytelling and reflection with a viewing of the stage play From the Ashes. The evening will begin with a special performance by Fareh Malik, a local Hamilton spoken word artist (learn more about Fareh here: https://www.farehmalik.com/). Through the lens of a refugee family’s journey, this performance invites us to confront the ongoing struggles many face long after arrival, while also sparking critical conversations about Islamophobia, systemic discrimination, and the lived realities of Muslim and racialized communities in Canada. Hear from guest speakers, engage in meaningful dialogue about the barriers these communities continue to navigate, and reflect on what it truly means to offer safety, dignity, and belonging. We look forward to seeing you there for an evening that inspires change and ignites meaningful action.
