Senior Wellness Program
The Senior Supports Program offers direct services to immigrant, newcomer, and refugee seniors through our friendly visiting program and community education. Located at 1545 Stone Church Rd E, Hamilton, ON L8W 3P8.
Friendly Visiting Program
Staff and volunteers are trained, carefully screened, and matched with a newcomer, immigrant, and/or refugee in the Hamilton community. client. One to two-hour friendly visits occurs on a regular weekly or biweekly basis. Activities may include conversation, playing cards, running errands with the senior client, walking, visiting sites, and much more.
Community Education
Beginning June 12, 2023, we will be hosting a 6-week senior group program helping newcomer, immigrant, and refugee seniors learn and adapt to the changing technology of computers, virtual programs, and other needs. Additionally, 1-2 sessions will be dedicated to helping seniors understand the signs of elder abuse and know how to prevent and/or address it effectively. Every 6 weeks this program provides services to a new cohort of 8-10 seniors. Please register below.
