Senior Wellness Program

Senior Wellness Program

The Senior Wellness Program provides vital services to immigrant, newcomer, and refugee seniors, offering connection, learning, and empowerment through our Friendly Visiting, Friendly Calling, and Community Education initiatives.

Friendly Visiting and Friendly Calling

Our trained and carefully screened staff and volunteers are matched with seniors in the Hamilton community for regular weekly or biweekly friendly visits or calls. These one- to two-hour interactions may include conversation, card games, running errands, walks, site visits, and more—tailored to build meaningful connections and enhance well-being.

Community Education Program for Seniors and Adults 18+

We are hosting a 6-week senior group program designed to help newcomer, immigrant, and refugee seniors and adults over 18+ learn and adapt to the changing technology of computers, virtual programs, and other needs. Additionally, 1-2 sessions will be dedicated to helping participants understand the signs of elder abuse and know how to prevent and address it effectively. Every 6 weeks this program will provide services to a new cohort of 8-10 participants. Participants will receive a certificate of completion, which can supplement their ESL learning.
